Gates likes to help me type, but the mouse is most fun on computer. He babbles gbp;jikkjkjuuuyiiojkkop[iu8iiiu8i8ui9uji in Chinese baby talk that our interpreter said means nothing but it means the world to me because it always ends with him cocking his head to one side and asking, "Yes, Mamma?" He is so thin it makes me cry to hold him but I am so thankful! Those tears of pity blend with tears of awe that God would entrust such a precious child to us.. So very, very thankful that he is in my arms... one day soon he will fill them with his growing little body.
I lcve him like you love a newborn. Every thing he does is adorable, when he's annoyed it's cute and when he throws a toy I have to be impressed by his aim! We're doing grea
,t. He is sleeping about three hours at a time and he and Brother Bridgjiuijer are already jumping on the bed and cracking each other up with boy humor that apparantly transcends language barriers. Slapstick stunts abound! And when Gates get Bridger to chase him he runs for me laughingly plowing into Mamma as 'home base'.
His defensive institutional behaivors are already diminishing somewhat and he grins constantly. Falling asleep is still very hard for him, he rocks from side to side, pokes at his eyes with his big toes and pinches himself. The first and last are common 'sensory seeking' behaivors for a child who isn't comforted or lovingly transitioned throughout infancy. The toe thing is just his own spin on the bedtime pain/release routine. Thank you for your continued prayers for Gates and for us as we witness and encourage his healing one beautiful step at a time.
