Little Gates is hurting for the familiar right along with Daddy. He and Dad are very sad today. Gates is expressing extreme frustration and the loss of what he knows as an average day. Being trapped in the Hotel and feeling sick isn't helping him at this point. Gates is throwing his toys at Daddy and rocking back and forth very hard. When Paul tries to hold him he is rigid and is screaming what sound like Chinese obsceneties. (smile)
They are both miserable and tired but one of them knows God is with them. Please understand that Paul will be quiet for the next couple of days, skyping and phone calls will be at a minimum as he paces, rocks, prays and worships their way out of this oppressive place and into an environment where Paul can provide the occasional distraction of running in the grass and watching the ducks and other things that will be possible in Guangzhou that just aren't where they are now. Gates's rages and sobbing hysteria are healthy expressions to this major disruption in what he knows as routine and familiar. He is very afraid. Paul is tired, hungry and feeling so helpless to help this child he adores. Please join me in praying for them both.

Karrie and Paul-
We are praying for you all during this period of adjustment and we hope that both Gates and Paul are feeling much better soon. We pray that these next several weeks (China and than arriving home) bring you all the peace, happiness and love you all so greatly deserve as a family. I'm sending you all a big hug from Tampa.
