Paul is in Lanzhou! He is exhausted and jetlagged with major culture shock but once he gets some sleep he will be much better. The drama of the health screening added some stress but NO QUARANTINE!!!! YAY! We're on schedule receive Gates on Father's Day!
Paul said that there is a crib in the room with a little blue lamb comforter and that the remote control for the hotel tv is all in Chinese! Funny the things that guys notice:-)
He also mentioned that there are about a million people on the streets and nobody stops for anybody with their cars. He watched cars driving on the side walk like it was nothing. Only altercation thus far was with a hotel clerk who insisted on money as deposit for wet bar in hotel room. Paul stood his ground so he's still got that 200RMB in his pocket.
His guide, Eagle Feng, is twenty five years old and was educated as an English Teacher. Thank you Jesus they can understand each other!
