Positioned for Miracle Number 316!

Hello everybody. As we are prepared to hear any moment that our I800 has been approved and the resulting final paperwork is winging it's way to the U.S.Consulate we are pensive. Poised like race horses in the gate ready to launch at the first indication that China has approved our travel dates to coincide with the consulate appointment which will be issued by the Guangzhou Embassy. We believe we will travel by mid May. Where is the excalmation point Karrie? Where is that explosive joy we all want to see? It's the quiet of reslove, a determination so deep and so immovable within me that the 'bounce' has left my heart.

We are at the door you guys. Gates is RIGHT behind it and I just can't stand it anymore. A day at a time has become ten minutes at a time. I wanted to bring our loved ones and friends along on this final phase of our journey to Gates but at times I feel a little extra sad about the complications burdening your hearts as well. I'm not setting you up but I do have to make you aware that along with this wonderful victory of immigration to the U.S. approval for Gates being imminent, we've recently learned that there is a strong possibility (official word takes longer) that approval for travel to China by U.S. Citizens may be suspended due to the swine flu.

The full ramifications of this have not yet been established by Chinese officials or the U.S. State Dept. The delays would be undefined. Wouldn't it be WONDERFUL if this brick wall never materialized? Wouldn't it be wonderful if the media would act responsibly in not spreading fear faster than disease and actually report the facts as the WHO World Health Organization states them? Wouldn't it be wonderful if the hundreds of families whose paperwork is sitting there waiting for issuance of a travel date could rescue their children at last?! As it stands now we will either travel in three weeks (if we can Indiana Jones it in there before the big rock gets us) or... well... let's not go there.
