Love is a verb.
We're staying busy waiting. Clock watching and mailbox survellience is not helping me. Neither is checking email every other hour for word of LOA. I stopped thinking that we might be closer because FIVE of our other families got LOA witht the same LID as us. Mostly because I learned of a family this week who got theirs after only 52 days and we are on day 75. There is nothing typical in adoption. We contacted the agency requesting some information on whether or not Gates has been furnished with a walker or crutches or if there has been any physical therapy offered to him yet. Often times once a child has a pending adoption there is some preparation or new opportunities for health care offered to that child. It's a rumour we would love to have confirmed! His province is approaching the time when food is most scarce as the harvest was long ago. We are preparing formula and cereal donations for Paul to transport for Love Without Boundaries or Half the Sky to Gansu province. Our church family has initiated over 100 block parties around town today to bring people together and donate canned food while they are at it. Today is Paul's birthday. He is spending the day at Epcot for free (love that free on your birthday promo Disney)with our adult children. We've been collecting canned goods for weeks in preparation for his party when they get home late tonight. B. and went mini golfing today (B got a hole in one on #13 and won a free game of golf token for next time). Right now I'm off to mix a cake for Daddy with him. We're building a tractor trailer for the top of the cake out of graham crackers and shiny black 'tire cookies', (snackwells). B. chose football candy, spice drops and pecans for the sides of the cake as those are Daddy's favorites too. He chose walkie talkies as his gift so that he can always talk to his Daddy. He is hoping they will work in China. I think he will have to use it while we are on skype. Keep doing what you can for somebody. Every day counts. Every person counts. Love is doing not waiting, I've got to remember that!
